Water-Soluble Detergent Sachets

In partnership with packaging startup Notpla, home care and detergent brand MACK created an industry-first detergent sachet. This innovation features Notpla’s plant-based, water-soluble film and it's Notpla’s first commercial application of its film material into a refill cleaning product line. This packaging technology was created for homeware and laundry products, and the materials dissolve in water and biodegrade naturally without leaving traces of microplastics.

The need for more innovative, biodegradable single-use packaging solutions for everyday products in the home is becoming increasingly evident as the environmental impact of traditional packaging materials becomes more apparent. Since buying package-free laundry detergent in bulk isn't always possible, or accessible to the average consumer, convenient, sustainable sachets support a cleaner future and a circular economy.
