Recyclable Paper Soap Labels

UPM Raflatac Unveils the RecyClass Paper Label for Soap Products

UPM Raflatac recently launched the world's first RecyClass-certified paper label material, endorsed with a Letter of Compatibility for application on rigid high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP) containers. This innovative product, known as New Wave paper label material, represents a significant milestone in eco-friendly labeling technology.

The certification from RecyClass underscores the material's compatibility with recycling processes, ensuring that it contributes to the circular economy by supporting the efficient reuse of resources.

The New Wave label material is purposefully designed to enhance the functionality of products throughout their life cycle. It is primarily for home and personal care items such as soap bottles and washing detergent containers.

One of New Wave's key advantages is its ability to facilitate the purity of recycled materials. The labels can be cleanly washed off at just 40°C using plain water, eliminating the need for harsh chemicals during recycling.

The new packaging option is available online for EMEIA customers, with an expansion to Asia on the horizon.
