Sustainability-Promoting Schools
Vo Trong Nghia Architects Complete the Farming Kindergarten
Jamie Danielle Munro — April 30, 2014Set in Vietnam, the Farming Kindergarten built by Vo Trong Nghia Architects was made to promote sustainability amongst young children. Looking back on most childhood education systems from people in their 20s and 30s these days, it's tough to remember much information about creating a sustainable future. These kids, however, are a step ahead thanks to this design.
The school is built in an open oval manner, with the central part being open so that kids can play in the sun. Overall the design was formed to promote a healthy understanding of nature, and not avoid disconnecting kids from this outside environment. As such, many of the lessons are taught outside so as not to create this divide at an early age.
