Danish architectural firm EFFEKT has put together a series of greenhouse homes dubbed the RenGen Villages that are designed to provide communities with their own source of energy and food to be a fully self-sustaining village. The green village's design is an attempt to help lower a community's carbon footprint while simultaneously aiming to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The RenGen Village provides residences with a source of energy as well as a space to grow high-quality produce to feed a large amount of people. The layout of the village includes conjoined greenhouses that utilize aquaponic farming and recycle waste. In addition, the greenhouses are able to produce electricity using sustainable energy to power the village homes.
