These solar-powered homes are situated in Örebro, Sweden and offer a glimpse into how architecture principles could be augmented to make our dwellings more efficient. The houses highlight passive design principles and are equipped with photovoltaic panels on the roof to capture as much solar energy as possible. The homes thus have a zero-energy footprint, while still offering all the amenities desired to keep them relevant for inhabitants.

The solar-powered homes feature a two-story design with 1,600-square-feet of living space that's open-concept and airy to highlight a decidedly stylish interior living experience. Each home features steel stairs that are suspended by a series of vertical wires that lead up to the three bedrooms as well as a full bathroom and family room.
