The 'Niu Haus' tiny home has been designed by students of the Master of Advanced Ecological Buildings program (MAEB) at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) as a self-sufficient living space. The home maintains an off-grid functionality that will sustain itself thanks to a number of eco-friendly accents including solar panels, a composting toilet, a rainwater harvesting system and even a gray water system. These features work together to enable inhabitants to live comfortably without having to affect the surrounding environment.

The 'Niu Haus' tiny home was constructed after three months of extensive research and design at a low-cost price point of €20,000, which also identifies what could be done to make homes more accessible.
