Liquid Hydrogen Turbine Engines
TurboTech's TP-R90 is a World's First in Alternative Energy
Colin Smith — January 16, 2025The TP-R90 from TurboTech is a lightweight turboprop engine designed for light aircraft, helicopters, and drones. It features a single-spool turbine that drives a propeller through a gearbox, reducing the turbine's high rotational speed to a more manageable propeller speed. The TP-R90 is known for its low fuel consumption, comparable to that of piston engines, thanks to its regenerative technology that recovers heat from exhaust gases to improve efficiency. This engine supports multiple fuel types, including Jet-A1, Diesel, UL91, AVGAS, Bio-Fuel, and Hydrogen, making it versatile and suitable for various applications.
Additionally, the TP-R90 is fully FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) controlled, ensuring precise and reliable operation. It boasts a high reliability and long operational life, with a Time Between Overhaul (TBO) of 3000 hours. The engine is also compact and vibration-free, contributing to a quieter and smoother operation. TurboTech's TP-R90 represents a significant advancement in aeronautical propulsion, offering an eco-friendly solution with reduced emissions and optimized fuel efficiency.
