Carbon-capturing technologies are continuing to evolve as researchers seek out ways to offset emissions using the latest processes, which is what we're seeing with the newly launched Equatic startup. The company utilizes technology that can remove CO2 from both the air and sea, and convert it to hydrogen fuel that's ready to be used for alternative transportation systems. The company has struck a deal with Boeing, which will purchase 2,100 metric tons of hydrogen that will be used in its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

Equatic currently has a pilot project up and running, and is hoping to scale up its operations to bring a plant online by 2026 that is capable of capturing as much as 100,000-tons of CO2 on an annual basis.
