Recyclable Wax-Made Lighting Capsules

Daydreaming Objects Designs the Soft Solids Collection

Copenhagen-based design duo Daydreaming Objects introduces a look at its new range of lights dubbed the Soft Solids collection. The series is made using reclaimed vintage lamp bases that are paired together with sustainable shades that are formed from natural wax.

Architect Ieva Baranauskaite and lighting designer Ruta Palionyte head the design duo Daydreaming Objects and the two wanted to shine a spotlight on the renewability and light-diffusing capabilities of natural wax. Palionyte tells Dezeen about the choice of materials, stating "Wax was chosen for its renewable and transformative properties, as well as its ability to delicately diffuse light. The collection was inspired by the organic nature of wax and its capacity to transform from a shapeless mass into a tangible form, reverting to a flexible or even fluid state."
