Rigid packaging is getting a sustainable upgrade with LyondellBasell’s launch of 'Pro-fax EP649U,' a polypropylene impact copolymer designed to improve efficiency and environmental responsibility in thin-walled food containers. Engineered for high-speed production, this material enhances mold release, static reduction, and impact resistance while enabling lightweighting for reduced material use.
To align with circular economy goals, Pro-fax EP649U is available under LyondellBasell’s 'CirculenRenew' and 'CirculenRevive' portfolios. These materials incorporate renewable or recycled content using a mass-balance approach, helping brands lower their carbon footprint.
By introducing sustainable alternatives in rigid packaging, LyondellBasell drives the industry toward more responsible material sourcing. Certified under the ISCC PLUS standard, these innovations showcase the potential of bio-based and recycled polyolefins in reducing plastic waste while maintaining product integrity.
