Plastic-Pollution-Targeting Ocean Initiatives

The Plastic Odyssey Fund Launches in the U.S.
Debra John — February 11, 2025Plastic Odyssey, a global initiative focused on reducing plastic pollution, has developed an international network of recycling and waste reduction solutions over the past eight years. To expand its impact, it is launching large-scale missions to restore biodiversity in protected areas affected by plastic pollution, beginning with UNESCO's 50 priority sites.
To support these efforts, Plastic Odyssey has established the 'Plastic Odyssey Fund,' a U.S.-based Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation. In 2025, events will introduce the fund, including "the Yachting Luncheon at the St. Francis Yacht Club and 'The Ocean Night' at 9Zero in San Francisco, featuring a panel discussion moderated by Janelle Kellman." Additional events in New York, Seattle, and other cities, along with a U.S. documentary screening, aim to raise awareness and promote action against plastic pollution.
