Anti-Plastic Pollution Devices

The Floating Coconet is an Innovative Solutions for Clean Waters

The anti-plastic pollution movement is permeating many industries and as a result, brands are turning to more eco-conscious practices—pertaining to manufacturing, packaging, and beyond. However, the years spent relying on the single-use material have created enormous amounts of plastic waste in bodies of water and some designers are looking to provide solutions to this problem by tapping biomimicry. The Floating Coconet is a great example of an anti-plastic pollution device.

The concept, which was funded on Kickstarter, seeks to "capture plastic pollution in rivers before it has the chance to enter the oceans." The Floating Coconet is able to collect and direct free-flowing plastics of all sizes. The design mimics the way basking sharks or manta rays filter food from water.
