The Nordstrom BEAUTYCYCLE is expanding its program into Nordstrom Rack stores after its Canadian launch in 2021. BEAUTYCYCLE is the retailer's beauty packaging take back and recycling program through which it accepts all brands and products regardless of purchase location. The BEAUTYCYCLE stations launched on March 21st across Nordstrom Rack locations and aim to tackle the abundance of plastic packaging that gets produced each year within the beauty industry -- an estimate of "more than 120 billion units" with only 9% being recycled.
Aiming to take back 100 tons of packaging to be recycled by 2025, the Nordstrom BEAUTYCYCLE is introducing boxes and recycling stations at all six Nordstrom and seven Nordstrom Rack stores across Canada.
