Beauty Kitchen's Initiative Cuts Down on Beauty Packaging Waste
Laura McQuarrie — March 20, 2019A staggering amount of packaging waste is created across all industries but the beauty industry is said to be particularly wasteful, with 99% of beauty packaging thrown out after just one use. Sustainable brand Beauty Kitchen is on a mission to get consumers to send back their product packaging with its new 'Return. Refill. Repeat' initiative.
Products that are marked with the program's official stamp are eligible to be returned to the brand for washing and reuse. To support this, the brand is offering free shipping labels so that the glass and aluminum vessels can easily make their way back to the brand.
At the same time brands are becoming more conscious about the environmental impacts of the products and packaging they are releasing into the world, many forward-thinking brands are also considering the management of goods that are already in circulation or are at the end of their useful lives.
