Shoppers Drug Mart is leading the charge in sustainable beauty with the launch of its Quo Beauty Cosmetics Free Recycling Program – the first for a major retailer's private-label color line. Partnering with TerraCycle, this initiative tackles the challenge of non-recyclable cosmetics packaging, a global issue generating 120 billion units of waste annually.

Customers can now conveniently recycle empty Quo Beauty components, diverting plastic from landfills and incineration. Shoppers Drug Mart further amplifies its impact by donating $1 to Shoppers Foundation for Women's Health for each pound collected.

This program follows Quo Beauty's "More Planet Love" launch, featuring over 500 products with sustainable packaging. The entire line is also vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-certified.

"We prioritize eliminating single-use plastics," says Pat Dean, SVP of Category Management at Shoppers Drug Mart. "This partnership positions us as a leader in offering private-label color cosmetics recycling, empowering Canadians and reducing our environmental impact." This initiative aligns with Shoppers Drug Mart's goal of achieving 100% recyclable or reusable control-brand packaging by 2025.
