Google has unveiled a new office space in California that highlights its commitment to sustainable architecture. Notably, this building is the company’s first to incorporate mass timber, a revolutionary material created by "layering smaller pieces of wood to form larger structural elements, such as beams and walls." As such, the design prominently features mass timber throughout the office, including in focus rooms, to emphasize the benefits of nature-inspired architecture.

In addition to the use of mass timber, the office includes skylights and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, which provide abundant natural light and offer scenic views of the surrounding area. Moreover, mass timber is "recognized for its sustainability, as it can absorb and store carbon over time, a process known as carbon sequestration; this characteristic makes it an environmentally friendly choice, reducing the carbon emissions typically associated with the extraction, production, and transportation of traditional building materials."
