Sustainable Quebec Car-Shares
Horizons Partagés Launches in Chelsea and La Pêche, Quebec
Kanesa D — November 28, 2024Horizons Partagés is debuting as a new car-sharing service for rural Quebec communities needing hybrid, rechargeable vehicles. This initiative, led by the Conseil régional de l’environnement et du développement durable de l’Outaouais (CREDDO), reduces the environmental impact of transportation and enhances accessibility by providing a shared, cost-effective solution for individuals who may not own a vehicle.
Focusing on the Chelsea and La Pêche municipalities, Horizons Partagés hopes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across Quebec.
“The Horizons Partagés car-sharing project represents a pivotal moment for our municipality,” remarked Pierre Guénard, Mayor of Chelsea. “By collaborating with CREDDO, the FCM, and our local partners, we are advancing our commitment to sustainable and intermodal transportation. This initiative not only helps reduce our carbon footprint but also offers residents a new, eco-friendly mobility option.”
