Call2Recycle Canada is pioneering sustainability in the hospitality sector through a landmark partnership with BWH Hotels. This collaboration introduces a large-scale battery recycling initiative across the Canadian hospitality industry, marking a significant step towards sustainable operations.

With 47 BWH hotels across eight provinces and territories already participating, this initiative offers a free, responsible disposal solution for used batteries from hotel operations. The ubiquity of battery-powered devices in the industry, from sensors and smoke detectors to door locks and room gadgets, underscores the critical need for such a program.

This initiative aligns with BWH’s “Because We Care” global sustainability program, which focuses on earth, people, and community (EPC) pillars. Michael Morton, BWH’s Vice President of Brand Management and Member Services, emphasizes the initiative's role in reinforcing the company's dedication to environmental stewardship and contributing to community wellbeing.
