Global fashion retailer Uniqlo is collaborating with Los Angeles' Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) to design a collection of denim pieces sourced from leftover scraps. This partnership, which spotlights the talents of students Dominic Miguel, Gianna Marshall, and Dahlia Litt, inspired the release of Uniqlo's new upcycled denim collection with Sean Lequang. In terms of design, the pieces adopt different techniques like patchworking, mixing, and upcycling to create a unique aesthetic.

“The inspiration behind this collection comes from a strong commitment to sustainability and the belief that fabric should never be considered waste,” Marshall tells WWD. “This collection demonstrates that with creativity and care, fabrics can be reimagined and given a new life.”
