Walmart Canada is pushing for greener transportation by rolling out a hydrogen fuel cell-powered electric semi-truck in Mississauga, Ontario. This aligns with the company's plan to swap to a 100% alternatively-powered fleet.

The new truck, a Nikola Hydrogen Fuel Cell EV Class 8 tractor, is designed to operate with zero tailpipe emissions, making it a game-changer for reducing environmental impact. With a range of approximately 800 kilometers, it’s built to handle long-haul routes without compromising performance. The company claims that each truck has the potential to prevent around 97 metric tons of CO2 emissions annually, the equivalent of taking 20 passenger cars off the road for a year.

This initiative is part of Walmart Canada’s broader commitment to sustainability and innovation, focusing on reducing its carbon footprint while ensuring efficient delivery operations.
