Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Fleets

Walmart Canada is pushing for greener transportation by rolling out a hydrogen fuel cell-powered electric semi-truck in Mississauga, Ontario. This aligns with the company's plan to swap to a 100% alternatively-powered fleet.

The new truck, a Nikola Hydrogen Fuel Cell EV Class 8 tractor, is designed to operate with zero tailpipe emissions, making it a game-changer for reducing environmental impact. With a range of approximately 800 kilometers, it’s built to handle long-haul routes without compromising performance. The company claims that each truck has the potential to prevent around 97 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually, the equivalent of taking 20 passenger cars off the road for a year.

This initiative is part of Walmart Canada’s broader commitment to sustainability and innovation, focusing on reducing its carbon footprint while ensuring efficient delivery operations.
