Tesco, Arla, and Müller are working together to introduce a farmer-focused initiative dedicated to advancing sustainability across the dairy sector. As a part of the deal, the brands will work together to develop and implement on-farm projects, such as testing and introducing methane-reducing feed additives, which could significantly decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

Additionally, all entities will leverage a dedicated farmer focus group to gather insights and share best practices across the sector, aiming to create scalable solutions that benefit the entire dairy supply chain.

“The [Tesco Sustainable Dairy] group has pioneered groundbreaking work on a number of areas, including animal welfare improvements, carbon foot-printing and introducing innovations such as methane reducing additives. [...] It’s critical we continue to ensure farmers play a pivotal role in this work, and we look forward to working with them as the work of the partnership is established,” said Ashwin Prasad, Tesco chief commercial officer.
