In-Store Beauty Takeback Programs
Marks and Spencer Debuts a Recyclable Beauty Packaging Program
Kanesa D — November 13, 2024Marks & Spencer (M&S) is expanding its Beauty Takeback Scheme in collaboration with HANDLE, which is now available in 100 stores across the UK. This extension includes 60 new locations, bringing the initiative to popular shopping destinations such as Birmingham Bullring, Cardiff, and Inverness. The program invites customers to recycle all forms of beauty packaging regardless of the retailer from which the products originated.
By offering dedicated beauty takeback boxes in the beauty sections of these stores, M&S has made it easier for shoppers to participate in sustainability efforts and reduce waste. To further enhance the scheme’s value, M&S has partnered with HANDLE to create a unique, eco-friendly product made from recycled materials. This year, a wide-toothed hair comb will launch from at least 98% of the collected beauty packaging.
