For all the convenience of takeout, many consumers are concerned with its impact on the environment thanks to all that excess packaging; GO Box is a community service that eliminates those concerns entirely. The platform out of Portland uses a combination of durable, fully reusable takeout packages and a tracking app to help consumers reduce the waste from takeout to zero.

The GO Box system is simple. Consumers download the app to sign up, and they can browse through to see which restaurants in the area are participating. After getting a meal served in a GO Box, users eat up and then return the box to a nearby drop off site, marking that in the app. Those boxes then get washed and returned to restaurants by GO Box staff, creating a completely waste-free dining cycle.
