Colin Smith — November 8, 2024Royal Enfield has launched a new electric vehicle brand called Flying Flea, marking a significant milestone in the company's 123-year history. The brand aims to provide electric mobility solutions for urban and city environments, with the first model, the FF-C6, set to be released in 2026. Inspired by the original Flying Flea model from the 1940s, the FF-C6 combines retro aesthetics with modern technology, featuring a forged aluminum frame, a magnesium battery case, and a round headlamp housing. The company has also developed a scrambler version, the FF-S6, which adds a rugged twist to the design.

This VCU enables over 200,000 different ride mode combinations and supports Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, ensuring the motorcycles remain up-to-date with the latest features. The motorcycles also feature lean angle sensing ABS and a domestic 3-pin plug for convenient charging. Royal Enfield's commitment to innovation is evident in the 28 patents filed for the Flying Flea models, covering various native technologies and connected applications.
By introducing the Flying Flea brand, Royal Enfield aims to offer a sustainable and enjoyable urban mobility experience. The company's investment in research and development, along with the establishment of an EV manufacturing plant in Chennai, India, underscores its dedication to advancing electric vehicle technology.
