Kanesa D — December 12, 2024Hugo Boss recently launched a dedicated entity focused on recycling and repurposing deadstock materials. Eightyards GmbH, will operate as an independent company wholly owned by Hugo Boss AG. Based in Metzingen, Germany, the new venture will officially begin operations in January, reflecting the brand's dedication to reducing waste and fostering circularity within the fashion industry.
“The mission of the company over the coming years is to establish itself as one of the key facilitators for the recycling and reuse of surplus materials into various industries beyond fashion,” the company said in a statement.
The formation of Eightyards GmbH is a cornerstone initiative within Hugo Boss’s broader sustainability roadmap, setting it apart from other brands. This plan targets achieving climate neutrality across its direct operations by 2030 and extending that neutrality throughout its entire value chain by 2045.
