Dead-Stock Fabric Apparel
One of XX Creates Pieces Made from Quality Luxury Fabrics
Debra John — December 6, 2024One of XX is a brand dedicated to creating apparel from dead-stock fabrics—materials that would otherwise be discarded. In doing so, the brand seeks to address the issue of waste in the fashion industry by transforming leftover fabrics into sustainable and affordable designs.
What initially started as a concept has since evolved into a flexible design system. Through this approach, One of XX allows for creative freedom while working within the constraints of available materials. The brand sources unused fabric rolls from other companies, producing limited-edition pieces. Each design is numbered, such as "6/7 or 21/33, which highlights its unique and one-of-a-kind nature."
For instance, the latest collection "repurposed 500 kilograms of dead-stock fabric into 23 distinct designs; among the pieces are a €49 shirt and a premium 800g jersey hoodie, offering both comfort and a sustainable solution to fashion."
