Archivist Studio Transforms Used Hotel Bed Sheets into Designer Shirts

With eco-friendly alternatives and responsible creation being a prerequisite for up-and-coming fashion brands, designer fashion brand Archivist Studio is creating elevated shirts from used hotel bed sheets. The brand was launched by Dutch designers Eugenie Haitsma and Johannes Offerhaus in response to learning that many almost perfect bedsheets and pillow covers often get disposed of due to small tears, holes, or stains.

The designers wanted to ensure these textiles could be repurposed instead of discarded and began relationships with several hotel that often donate the sheets at no cost. The hotel linens are cleaned and then shipped to a family-run factory in Romania where they are transformed into luxury white shirts, priced between €140-€160 ($150 - $172 USD).
