At Dutch Design Week, tech startup Laero unveiled a water treatment system called Cycleau that's compact enough to be installed under a sink in order to recycle up to 80% of the water. This standalone water filtration system uses three different filtration processes to turn gray water into drinking water.

The at-home grey water treatment system started out as a concept developed by Laero founder Noemi Florea when she was a student at the Parsons School of Design in New York.

Cycleau has the potential to make wastewater recycling more accessible to the average household, all the while solving pain points like most systems being too big, too expensive or too spread out over multiple facilities in order to be useful to the average person or family.
