CS Tech Solution, an innovative Hong Kong-based company specializing in sustainable building materials, is introducing carbon capture and utilization (CCU) technology to Hong Kong’s construction sector. Established in 2022, the company has "launched a research and development center in Tuen Mun, focused on capturing carbon emissions at construction sites and integrating captured carbon directly into building materials." This approach marks a pioneering effort within the region to reduce carbon emissions in construction by permanently storing carbon within infrastructure.

Led by co-founder and CEO Dixon Chan, CS Tech is working to develop materials that offer a low-carbon footprint, specifically tailored for the Hong Kong construction industry’s environmental goals. The initial carbon-capture system for this project is currently under production in Europe and will serve as a pilot to demonstrate the feasibility of this emissions-reducing technology. Chan envisions this approach as a solution that "not only mitigates on-site emissions from sources such as chimneys but also creates carbon-storing building materials that could transform sustainability practices across Hong Kong’s construction landscape."
