Sustainable Cement Production Projects

Cement Manufacturers Have Come Together in an Eco Project
Francesca Mercurio — October 18, 2021The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) has announced its plans to eliminate carbon emissions by 2050. The cement and concrete industry is one of the most polluting industries in the entire world. To address this growing concern in sustainability, forty of the world's leading concrete and cement manufacturers have come together to eliminate their companies' significant carbon emissions.
The GCCA has developed an extensive plan and roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 25 percent. The project hopes to eliminate carbon emissions by 2050 and, by 2030, prevent an estimated five billion tones of C02 from being released into the air. One of the primary approaches will be to substitute unsustainable cement materials with lower-carbon chemically-made materials.
The GCCA's plans are aligned with the Paris Agreement's program to tackle global warming.
