Coldplay's Music of the Spheres world tour is set to take place as a net-zero carbon event. The band released a sustainability plan that includes direct-air carbon capture technology. Climeworks developed the sustainable technology to help the British band achieve its environmental initiatives.

The band released a detailed list of environmentally-friendly steps they are taking as a team to reduce the tour's carbon emissions by 50 percent compared to its last tour. Team members "pledge to drawdown any unavoidable emissions according to the Oxford Principles for Net-Zero Aligned Carbon Offsetting." Climeworks' machines remove carbon dioxide from the air and store it safely for commercial use in products such as fizzy drinks. Moreover, the concert itself will be powered by renewable energy.
