Coffee-Focused Agricultural Partnerships

Community Coffee has announced its partnership with World Coffee Research, a collaborative organization focused on enhancing coffee production through agricultural innovation. The alliance underscores Community Coffee's commitment to sustainability and long-term industry growth by supporting research that aims to address challenges such as climate change and supply shortages.

As a founding member of World Coffee Research, Community Coffee has played a pivotal role in advancing efforts to improve coffee productivity, quality, and climate resilience. The initiative seeks to address a looming supply shortage projected for 2030, driven by increasing demand and environmental challenges. With nearly 75% of the global coffee supply concentrated in just five countries, the industry faces significant risks. WCR aims to mitigate these vulnerabilities by developing and distributing new coffee varieties suited to diverse growing conditions worldwide. The research-driven approach focuses on breeding resilient coffee plants, with the first improved varieties expected to reach farms by 2036 and subsequent releases occurring every three years.
