For a limited time in London, Uber is opening the doors to the city's first carbon-negative pub, 55k Tonnes, which celebrates the 55,000 tonnes of air pollution saved by Uber using electric cars since 2021. As the rideshare company shared to X, (formerly Twitter) "London has become Uber’s global EV capital, with nearly 30% of Uber miles in London being driven by electric vehicles."

At the 55k Tonnes pub, visitors will find carbon-saving technologies like Pavegen flooring—which transforms footsteps into electrical power—and power bikes for generating electricity while sipping a beer in the saddle. When it comes to drinks, 55k Tonnes exclusively stocks carbon-neutral pints from Gipsy Hill.

With London's first carbon-neutral pub, Uber aims to encourage more people in the city to use Uber Green, the service's electric-only option.
