Food Waste Sneakers

Hellmann's Canada Launched 1352: Refreshed Sneakers with Food Waste Items

Corn, mushrooms, apples and grapes are not only common food waste items, they're also the ingredients that went into making the 1352: Refreshed Sneakers by Hellmann's Canada. These limited-edition food waste sneakers from the mayonnaise brand were created in collaboration with sustainable fashion brand ID.Eight and they challenge people to think differently about food consumption.

The sneakers get their name from the 1,352 Canadian dollars that the average Canadian household wastes on food each year. Canadians can enter to win a pair of the 1352: Refreshed Sneakers online, and for every entry, Hellmann's Canada will donate the equivalent of 10 meals to its charity partner Second Harvest, the largest food rescue organization in Canada.
