Food Waste-Fighting Cafes
The Hotpoint's Fresh Thinking Cafe Menu is Inspired by Often-Wasted Food
Laura McQuarrie — October 4, 2018Domestic appliance brand Hotpoint recently kicked off a 'Fresh Thinking for Forgotten Food' campaign with Jamie Oliver in order to bring attention to the fact that "a third of all food produced in the world is wasted." As part of the campaign, Hotpoint and Jamie Oliver are spotlighting the some of the most commonly wasted foods like bread, bagged salads, vegetables and leftovers, as well as how to creatively repurpose them.
As part of an effort to get people thinking differently about the food in the kitchen, Hotpoint is launching a Fresh Thinking Pop-Up Café featuring a menu inspired by the top wasted foods in the UK. At the pop-up, customers will be able to take advantage of a "pay-as-they-feel" scheme, with all proceeds going towards food waste-fighting charity FoodCycle.
