Food Waste Fruit Juices
'Pod' Created a New Juice Range Made from Wonky Fruits and Vegetables
Katherine Pendrill — June 16, 2016The UK-based food retailer 'Pod' recently created a line of juices made from wonky fruits and vegetables. In recently years, a number of brands have begun experimenting with different ways of repurposing food scraps. This company's solution to reducing food waste is to use up ugly produce that would otherwise be wasted.
The new line of fruit and vegetable juices from Pod is made with produce that is traditionally rejected by supermarkets. Instead of letting these wonky fruits and vegetables go to waste, Pod is turning them into fresh juices. Despite the use of unappealing ingredients, the juices are just as flavorful and nutritious as drinks made from more aesthetically pleasing produce.
The new range of healthy fruit and vegetable juices demonstrates a creative way that food retailers can help to cut down on food waste.
