IKEA unveils a look at its new VÄXELBRUK collection, which is a new home range that highlights a sustainable effort. The entire capsule is made from recycled coworker uniforms to build upon greener efforts. The Swedish brand was inspired by the VÄXELBRUK project, which was transforming old apparel into raw secondary materials.
The word VÄXELBRUK means 'interchangeable in Swedish, which pertains to the values of the collection as a whole. There are 16 items in the range including curtains, cushion covers, bags, and throws. All of these are made from 300 tonnes of upcycled IKEA uniforms. It is collection before being blended with other materials including old PET bottles to create the specific color and quality.
