Waste-Reducing Upcycled Cutlery

Albatross Designs Turns Used Shaving Blades into Cutlery Pieces

Albatross Designs is now introducing Take Back Ware or upcycled cutlery designs that are made from stainless steel shaving blades.

Albatross Designs launched the Albatross Blade Take Back Program because not all municipal recycling companies currently accept used razor blades and chose to upcycle rather than recycle the collected material. As well as helping to provide an alternative to disposable plastic razors, Albatross Designs is now offering a mobile cutlery set that has the potential to help reduce the amount of waste generated by plastic utensils.

According to Andrew LaCenere, Albatross Designs CEO, "For us, Take Back Ware represents the kind of paradigm shift we are constantly looking to create. Connecting our shaving business so intimately to a new, actually meaningful product makes Take Back Ware an incredibly special product in itself, and helps draw a map other companies can follow."
