Recyclable Plastic-Free Cutlery

Newlight 'AirCarbon' Foodware is Arriving at Gelson's Markets

The Newlight 'AirCarbon' foodware is being launched at Gelson's Markets locations in California to provide patrons with a single-use utensil option that's achieved without plastic.

The cutlery made with the material requires no food crops to be produced, and features no phthalates, BPAs or PFAS in the mix. The material is also certified as being carbon-negative by SCS Global Services and is capable of being recycled after use to avoid sending it to the landfill.

CEO of Newlight Technologies Mark Herrema spoke on the new launch of 'AirCarbon' foodware at Gelson's saying, "We believe we must end the flow of plastics into the ocean in this generation. For us, that means making sustainable products that people love and that also work for the environment. This launch is the culmination of over 18 years of hard work by many dedicated people, and we couldn't be more excited to launch with Gelson's as a partner."
