Consolidated Carbon Accounting Initiatives

Microsoft has announced a new organization named 'The Carbon Call.' This organization was created through a collective collaboration with over 20 organizations. However, Microsoft and 'ClimateWorks Foundation' will head the initiative. The Carbon Call was founded based on the recent increase in demand for carbon neutrality and the various accompanying initiatives made by businesses to become carbon neutral.

The Carbon Call will address issues of inconsistency, inaccuracy, and unreliability in carbon accounting. Currently, each entity accounts for emissions in a different way which allows for the skewing of data. The Carbon Call will provide a consolidated framework that accurately represents the end-to-end emissions of an entity. This platform will increase the transparency of businesses and as a result, will increase public trust.
