YSL Beauty Expands REWILD OUR EARTH Initiative in Canada

REWILD OUR EARTH takes center stage once again as YSL Beauty deepens its global environmental commitment with a bold new project in Canada. Announced today in Montréal, the initiative focuses on restoring British Columbia’s Park Rill Creek through the construction of up to 20 artificial beaver dams -- an innovative, nature-inspired approach to ecosystem restoration.
Launched in partnership with Re:wild, The Nature Trust of BC, and the BC Wildlife Federation, this latest phase harnesses low-tech solutions like Beaver Dam Analogues (BDAs) and Post-Assisted Log Structures (PALS) to rehabilitate aquatic habitats, improve water flow, and combat erosion across a vital 1.4 km stretch in the South Okanagan Grasslands.
Situated on traditional First Nations territories, this biodiversity hotspot will benefit from enhanced hydrological resilience and ecological complexity. The project also strengthens ties with Indigenous and local communities, aligning with YSL’s broader sustainability platform, Change the Rules, Change the Future.
