Interloop Kapas Debuts a Project Focused on Cotton Sustainability Efforts
Kanesa D — January 21, 2025The Interloop Kapas project has achieved certification from Control Union Sri Lanka, marking the culmination of a three-year collaborative effort with 1,000 dedicated farmer partners. The Interloop Organic Kapas (ILOK) Project is a testament to the company’s commitment to sustainability and farmer well-being.
A critical aspect of the initiative is its focus on digital traceability, which ensures transparency in the organic cotton supply chain from field to fabric. Looking ahead, Interloop has set an ambitious goal of sourcing 70% of its materials from sustainable sources by 2025.
The project stands out for its environmental contributions and its role in strengthening the socio-economic fabric of the farming communities involved. By equipping local farmers with advanced skills, access to digital tools, and sustainable farming practices, the initiative aims to enhance farm productivity and soil health while creating pathways to high-value markets.
