Sustainable packaging manufacturer Brook + Whittle was granted a United States patent for its innovative GreenLabel BlockOut solution, a recyclable light-blocking shrink sleeve solution for PET packaging. With this shrink sleeve, brands can make the shift from plastics to clear PET packaging and keep their products protected from light exposure with the unique, fully recyclable coating.

Afte eight years of research and development, Brook + Whittle is the first to market with this patented solution, which relies on a crystallizable shrink sleeve, GreenLabel de-inkable inks and a functional barrier coating. This recyclable PET packaging innovation is poised to solve sustainability and spoilage issues within the dairy, beverage and nutraceutical spaces, which are also challenged with nutrient loss and flavor change.
