Lenzing Group, a global producer of wood-based specialty fibers, is using the Lenzing Fiber Identification System to ensure transparency and traceability for LENZING™ FR (flame-resistant) cellulosic fibers used in protective wear. This system guarantees quality assurance, traceability, and authenticity throughout the production process. The company is also focused on reducing carbon emissions by producing carbon-neutral LENZING™ FR fibers, certified by ClimatePartner. These efforts align with the growing demand for supply chain transparency and sustainability in the industry.

The Lenzing Fiber Identification System promises to "boost confidence in [the] supply chain." LENZING™ FR fibers are produced using renewable wood from certified forests. The production process for LENZING™ FR fibers uses over 83% renewable energy, resulting in significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to generic modal fibers. These high-quality FR fibers are used in protective garments for various industries, including firefighting, military, police, and oil and gas.
