Direct greenhouse gas emissions are a key part of LG’s sustainability efforts under its 'Better Life for All' framework. The company focuses on three main environmental goals: carbon neutrality, circularity, and clean technology, as well as social priorities like design accessibility, workplace improvements, and diversity.

LG aims to "reduce direct (Scope 1) and indirect (Scope 2) emissions during production by 54.6% compared to 2017 levels by 2030." This will be done through energy-saving technologies, better manufacturing processes, and using renewable energy. LG also plans to achieve carbon neutrality in manufacturing by 2030 and switch to 100% renewable energy by 2050.

Additionally, LG is "working to reduce emissions from product use (Scope 3) by 20% by 2030—this includes improving the energy efficiency of its products, such as TVs, refrigerators, and air conditioners," to lower environmental impact during their use.
