Samsonite Expands Usage of Recycled Materials

Samsonite expands its commitment to sustainability by managing a diverse portfolio of brands, including Tumi and American Tourister. As such, the company is dedicated to using 100% renewable electricity across all operations and plans to significantly increase the use of recycled materials in its products. Consequently, it aims to "reduce Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services by 52% on an intensity basis per unit of gross profit by 2030; this target, based on a 2022 baseline, has been submitted for validation to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)."

Moreover, the new science-based climate target applies to all of Samsonite's brands globally. To support this initiative, global teams have developed "greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction roadmaps outlining necessary actions: Additionally, the Group will maintain its commitment to renewable electricity in retail stores and facilities through onsite solar generation, green power programs, and the purchase of Renewable Energy Certifications (RECs) and Energy Attribution Certificates (EACs)."
