Samsung Biologics Hosted an ESG Event
Debra John — December 6, 2024Samsung Biologics recently held its second Supplier ESG Day as a virtual event, aiming to support sustainability and promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) efforts among its suppliers. The event brought together "82 companies, including Merck, Cytiva, Thermo Fisher, and Sartorius, creating an opportunity to exchange ideas and strategies for building greener supply chains."
To set the stage, Samsung Biologics discussed the environmental challenges faced by the healthcare industry and the need for more sustainable practices. The company then shared its progress, highlighting the use of low-carbon technologies like energy-efficient boilers and monitoring systems. Furthermore, it showcased its efforts to increase renewable energy use by installing solar panels.
Looking ahead, Samsung Biologics reaffirmed its goal of "achieving net-zero emissions by 2050; the company emphasized its commitment to helping suppliers enhance their ESG efforts and work collaboratively toward a more sustainable future to support this vision."
