These new Tim Hortons coffee cup lids are being tested by the brand on Prince Edward Island as part of a packaging update that will help it shift towards more sustainable alternatives. The lids are characterized by their compostable profile that's made with natural fiber rather than plastic to ensure they will break down upon being disposed of. The lids are suitable for being recycled when they're clean or composted when dirty, which provides a variety of disposal methods for the end consumer to take advantage of.
The new compostable Tim Hortons coffee cup lids are being tested as part of a 12-week pilot project that could support the brand's expansion of the packaging update to more of its locations in Canada and internationally.
