Eco-Friendly Ride Options

Careem Rides x CarbonSifr are introducing an eco-friendly ride option in Saudi Arabia, starting in Riyadh. In collaboration with the Transport General Authority and the Sedrah Program under the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, this initiative will allow customers to offset their carbon footprint by supporting tree-planting projects across the Kingdom. This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals of advancing sustainable transport and reducing emissions.

The partnership with CarbonSifr integrates reforestation efforts into daily commutes, ensuring that each eco-friendly ride contributes directly to national environmental restoration projects. With designated planting sites set by MEWA, the initiative mitigates emissions and strengthens climate resilience and ecosystem preservation. Careem Rides customers can now participate in sustainability efforts simply by choosing this ride option.

This collaboration represents a significant step in Saudi Arabia’s transition to a low-carbon future. By leveraging technology and transport services for environmental impact, Careem Rides and CarbonSifr set a precedent for green mobility solutions that blend convenience with climate action.
