Race Circuit Green Initiatives

Aggreko Middle East has been announced as the 'Official Sustainability Partner' for the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2024, continuing its long-term collaboration with Ethara, which began in 2009. As part of efforts to reduce carbon emissions at Yas Marina Circuit, Aggreko will contribute by using "biodiesel, managing energy loads, and deploying solar-supported battery storage systems during the event." This partnership aims to build on the success of the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which saw a 40% reduction in emissions compared to 2022.

In addition to these carbon-reduction measures, Ethara will also focus on minimizing food waste throughout the four-day event. The organization will work with stakeholders to support the government’s 'Ne'ma National Food Loss and Waste Initiative' and encourage awareness among attendees. Other green initiatives will include "maintaining a plastic-free environment in the Media Centre, Paddock, Pit Lane, and Team Villas."
